Sauternes private wine tour

9:00am – Pick-up from your accommodation in Bordeaux
Meet your guide and depart Bordeaux for the Pessac-Léognan area, the birthplace of Bordeaux’s great wines and home to both exceptional reds and whites.

10:00am – Visit & wine tasting at a Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé château
Begin the day with a guided visit of a classified estate, where you’ll discover the unique characteristics of Pessac-Léognan wines, followed by a tasting showcasing their elegance, balance, and aging potential.

11:30am – Visit & tasting at a family-run Graves estate
Continue into the Graves AOC for a more intimate experience at a family-owned winery. Learn about traditional winemaking methods and enjoy a tasting that highlights the diversity and authenticity of this historic appellation.

12:30pm – Lunch
Enjoy a break for lunch, with the choice of a relaxed picnic or a gourmet lunch at a local restaurant (both available at your own expense). Take time to unwind and savor the flavors of the region.

2:30pm – Visit & wine tasting at a Grand Cru Classé Sauternes château
In the afternoon, head south to Sauternes, world-famous for its sweet wines. Visit a classified estate to learn about the fascinating process behind these exceptional dessert wines, including noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), followed by a guided tasting.

3:30pm – Scenic drive back to Bordeaux
Relax as you travel back through the countryside, reflecting on the day’s discoveries.

4:30pm – Drop-off at your accommodation
Return comfortably to your Bordeaux accommodation, concluding a well-paced and diverse wine experience.
